Motor Cycle Riding Permit URA

Riding a motorcycle on Ugandan roads requires the rider to have a valid driving license, just like it requires one to have one if he or she is planning to drive a motor vehicle under the traffic rules and regulations. If you already have a motor vehicle drivers license regardless of its restrictions or classes, and wondering how easy you could go about adding a motor cycle A class aka extension, this article is what you need so as to know what you should do and how.

Obtaining a fresh new motor cycle class A driving permit, and or adding the A class in your existing license requires one to undergo a series of steps and procedures since in anyway, that is the only way one is able to obtain a legal road worthy document as per Ugandan roads and traffic rules enforced by the Police and works ministry.

I have seen many people ask this question so many times. And I am answering you all in this post. All you need is to follow the procedures as explained below so as to add a motor cycle class A extension in your current driving permit and or to get a fresh new one. Remember, a good citizen is one who will follow the set rules and laws governing his or her country, in this case which is Uganda.

How to obtain a fresh new motor cycle URA driving permit

Begin by undergoing some riding lessons so that you can get knowledge of how to ride. Once you are ready, visit Uganda revenue authority web portal and generate a provisional / learners permit PRN. Print your payment registration receipt and proceed to the chosen bank and make a payment. Go to Kyambogo Face technologies, present the payment receipt together with the UCDP medical form and get a class A learners paper permit.

Go back to URA web portal and generate the test fees payment PRN and pay in the bank. Attach your riding certificate, your learners and any other required document eg police medical and proceed to IOV testing center for booking. You will be told when to come back assuming you find positions full, and or do the test. Please note that you will undergo a series of both oral and practical tests to prove that you indeed know how to ride, including the road traffic signs. Depending on your score results, you will either pass or fail the test, and if passed, you will be told when to go back to Face technologies. Go back to URA web portal, generate a Full Permit payment PRN, pay the fees in the bank, attach the medical form, your IOV stamped learners permit and proceed to face on the mentioned day for a Temporary riding permit.
