A biological view of the Venus fly trap

The Venus fly trap is a plant that depicts carnivorous feeding habits, and they are known to inhabit subtropical swampland found on the east coast of the United States. The plant traps insects and arachnids which are sanctioned by its hairs that are found on the leaves of the plant.

With a rosette of dour to seven leaves, the Venus fly trap has a tiny structure planted on a small bulb like stem. In trapping prey the plant employs mechanisms displayed in other plants such as the Telegraph and bladderworts capable of making sudden rapid movements that enclose the insects once they have landed on the surface of the plants.
