This tutorial is about how you can solve the Gmail stuck in any number of unseen unread email messages for example 1. Yes, this post contains the possible solution and its alternatives just in case one option fails to work like its been for my case.

A day back, my Gmail email did stuck in 1 Unread email message which was unseen on every attempt I made to search for it. I searched through all of my inbox (up to 5000 messages) but all returned no un read message. I tried to empty my Spam, Trashed and all other folders but failed.

Out of my own thinking, I ended up discovering the solution which many seem to have always bypassed, and which is determined by the current view of your Email for example HTML or Standard View.

Here is the solution in case you are currently using the any view option – standard and HTML. Just type any of the following below and hit the search button. The results you get will of course be inclusive of any un read message in the specified folders.

In case your search returns 0 messages when using the Basic HTML option, then try switching to Standard view since the unread message may be in your Chat messages and which are not shown or supported in HTML.
