What Nokia’s First Android Has To Offer? Nok X Specifications

After a long series of leaks and speculations, the Finnish manufacturers have finally launched their first Android smartphone naming as Nokia X. We could call it a bit late, but the company has finally understood that they need to bring an Android Smartphone for sustaining their presence in the market. The Google’s Android Operating system has tasted huge success in the marketplace, ever since its launch. The Android operating system boasts tons of innovative features, which takes your smartphone usage experience on to new heights.

Nokia’s biggest rival, Samsung also uses the Android OS in its Galaxy Series of smartphones which has taken its manufacturers to the number one position worldwide. The tremendous success of the Galaxy Series of Smartphones has strengthened Samsung a lot. With the huge sales figures of Samsung Galaxy Series, the Finnish brand Nokia is in immense pressure and is fronting a bad time in the terms of sales figures. But now, with the launch of Nokia X, the manufacturers are hoping to turn the figures in the opposite direction.

Let’s have a close look on every aspect of Nokia X:

Design & Build – Nokia X is Nokia’s first Dual SIM Android Smartphone, which runs on a forked version of Android Jelly Bean operating system. On the first look, one could easily say that Nokia X is a combination of a Lumia and an Asha Smartphone. The build quality and the finish of this Smartphone are really appreciable. The solid body design and attractive color panels give it a premium look.

Display – Nokia X sports a 4-inch IPS Touch screen display with a 480 x 800 pixels resolution  at a rate of 233 pixels per inch. This is the same display, which is also found on Nokia Lumia 520. Hence, you can’t expect a brilliant display.

Hardware Specs – This smartphone is powered by a Dual-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, clocked at 1GHz and is supported by 512MB of RAM. This processor is well enough to drive huge applications with the support of 512MB of RAM. This smartphone features the Fastlane, which is found on the Asha smartphones. This smartphone supports multi-tasking with an ease.

Operating System – Nokia X runs on the forked version of Google’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system. But it doesn’t support Google Play Store. The user also can’t log in his/her Google id for syncing and other processes on this smartphone. But it can run around 75% of Android applications and games found on the Play Store. It is as well backed up with lots of exclusive Nokia Apps which were found on the Nokia Lumia devices.

Camera – This Smartphone houses a 3 Megapixels rear camera, but misses an LED flash. The rear camera is not capable of recording HD videos, but features ISO control, Panorama, White Balance and more. The front camera is also missing on this Smartphone. In this price bracket, we would expect at least a VGA front camera for video calls.

Memory, Connectivity & Battery – Nokia X boasts  an internal memory of up to 4GB which can be expanded  to 32 Giga Bytes using a MicroSD card. For connectivity this Smartphone supports 3G, Bluetooth, WI-FI, GPS, A-GPS and other standard connectivity options. It is fuelled by a 1500mAH Li-ion battery, which claims 13 hours of talk time and up to 672 hours of standby time.

Final Words on Nokia X – Overall, the Nokia X seems to be a very strong offering from the Finnish manufacturers. Nokia X is launched with a price tag of Rs. 8,599 and is easily available around Rs. 8,000 on the leading online stores. At this price tag, this smartphone faces a tough competition from Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 and others coming from Indian brands like Micromax & Karbonn.

The competitors of Nokia X are supported with the Google Play Store, which packs many innovative applications and addictive games. But the Nokia X misses it, which can be called as the biggest factor against the smartphone. The Nokia’s App Store found on Nokia X has compromised with quantity only but not with the quality. Nokia X is a perfect buy for those who want to buy their first Smartphone. This smartphone is a value for money deal and is capable to become your next bought gadget. On net pages such as 91mobiles and more, you can find the different device release news.
