News coming in from Rwenzori side are that king Charles Wesley Mumbere, the Omusinga Wa Rwenzururu was arrested by security operates and immediately flown to Kampala using the Police helicopter.
Uganda Police spokesperson, Andrew Felix Kawesi confirmed the arrest and was quoted; “We believe these attacks have a political motive and have so far arrested 15 key ring leaders including the Kingdom Chief.” Kawesi said before adding that; “14 police officers, 41 Rwenzori attackers and 2 UPDF soldiers are dead while others are left with injuries.”
This comes after requests by the security agencies requests to have access to the Kingdom premises to search for those who had fled in, failed to hand in all illegal firearms was denied after the Omusinga insisted on keeping them, and which prompted for the forceful arrest.
