Its been claimed that the worlds Giant and top social networking site Facebook is scheduled to shut down from January 1st 2015 following a planned maintenance which will see major fixes happening as already planned.
The site is expected to remain closed for a full week ie till the 8th January when its believed that maintenance work will be done. According to this Article, its claimed that Mark Zuckerberg who is the CEO and founder of Facebook announced that the full week closure is purposely for a standard
maintenance.
The social site is estimated to be back for public access on January 8, 2015.
What does it mean?
For the million users, its like none of them will be able to access the site regardless of the device one will be using not until the maintenance work has been done..

Update: According to the different sources, Facebook closure news looks not to be True. Its claimed that the linked main article above is just another hoax and you shouldn’t get worried about your social site remaining off for a full week.
The same claims have been circulating so many years back well as none of the dates mentioned has ever seen Facebook closing down. A phone number which the article provided looks to belong to some Church other than Facebook.com itself.

Some people have reported Facebook being off many times ever since 2015 begun and we are wondering why.
Facebook has been shut down on my device many times in this January 2015. Sometimes its off and sometimes its on. May be they had ti shut down in Feb 2015.

Could the reason be security purposes that is making facebook shutdown. But do yopu think that is true? Like update, i dont think so may be it is false.
Many claims of facebook closing in march 15 and November 15th were not real. I hope this of January 2015 is not real too. why so many hoax messages on the internet to that extent?

Sorry Facebook members, that is true the site will go off from PST 1st Jan midnight to same time on 8th. We will miss you so much Facebook but at least we are sure you come back afterwards.

Religion has nothing to do with Facebook or any other business as its a choice. These seem to be real and if they aren’t, we will see later when the day clicks on.

That’s not bad for as long as its to bring the best out of our Facebook site. I see, may be that will help solve the many crashes and much more we suffer some of us.
Guaranteed, the site will be back and for your info, Mark says that the new one will be the best ever you seen as in how Facebook operates.
That would be cool though if it does turn out better than it has in the past. I have heard a lot of people complaining about the changes, including people on my list.

I guess the maintenance closure affects all Facebook devices since no one will be able to login to the site not until the work is done.

Full week without facebooking in new year is very long. Why they don’t do in the last days of december? That makes sense at least.
That is a plan made already. And how about Xmas, may be they wanted everyone to enjoy Xmas holidays and then resume work by new year. I wonder a world when Facebook is off. It will like when power is off the entire city at night!
