You can get a court order for the motor vehicle change of ownership in Uganda by submitting all required details to the Magistrates court of choice. When processing an absentee transfer of a Motor vehicle through the Ministry of Works and Transport (MoWT), an order is mandatory in addition to the affidavit.
What is a Court order?
A Court order may refer to a “directive” or “instruction” by the Courts of Law to an individual, company, organization, etc to do anything. The court rules out in favor of anyone and gives instructions to anyone to do something.
Why Make An Court During Transfer?
A court order is required as it gives the licensing authority (MoWT) powers to process the vehicle transfer to the new owner in absence of the current registered owner. Court makes an order in favor of the claimant for as long as all supporting documents as proof of ownership are presented to court.

Once you have gone through all the steps and an order is issued, you should then submit the documents to Nakawa MoWT office for processing.
