MTN slashes mobile money sending rates this festival

MTN Uganda, one of the leading and Giant telecommunication companies in the country offering both Mobile, Data, Money transfer and etc services has announced a slash (reduction) in Mobile money-sending costs and rates. During a press conference held at the Lugogo-based service center at Forest Mall. This move comes ahead of this year’s festival season which combines both Christmas and the new year.

Mr. Lubega, MTN’s General Manager for Financial Services was quoted saying, “We are excited to deliver the first festive season offer, making sending even more affordable for customers on MTN Mobile Money”. The reduced MTN Uganda mobile money-sending rates affect tiered amounts between 500 and 45,000 UGX. If you are receiving it from abroad, check out the sendwave money transfer.

The promotion is expected to run till the end of the year with the hope that many people are likely to benefit from this offer, just like the company Chief Executive Officer Wim Vanhelleputte added, “To be able to accelerate the financial inclusion that mobile money is at the forefront of supporting, affordability is key”.

Mind you, this is not an MTN-Mobile money hack or cheat but rather, something genuine which has been announced publicly by the Giant communication company. These reduced charges will apply to MTN Mobile Money clients sending money to other registered mobile money customers.

In the same conference, it was announced that the 70-day so far launched Banking MoKash (the savings and loans product) had already attracted more than 1,000,000 (1 million) customers. Now that you have seen this by yourself, I am sure you should pass on this to all others who might have missed or not read it.
