I attended this Wedding aka “Okwanjula Ne’mbaga” for a dear friend, a brother and my doctor. Her sister was introducing and I was so happy happy viewed this “Busoga” traditional wedding ceremony deep there in Luwuka district. Leave alone the journey but everything was interesting.

These pics were taken and transformed into a Video you should watch. If you are a fan of “embaga”, “emikolo” or “kwanjula” which I am sure you do basing on the number of people who sit and watch those wedding shows on popular TV stations like Bukedde, Delta, Star and others, then this will do it for you.

There is this something about the traditional wedding. That the visitors have to be checked by the doctors before entry to the places. And yes, the young ladies who are always there do the work which ends by putting some good looking and designed proof of sick free for the visitors.

They ask to enter other than simply entering. They are asked so many questions and they respond to for example, whether they aren’t lost or so, who knows them and much more. Traditional “kwanjula” is fun to me and just like in BUganda, even in Busoga things are almost the same. All parties must have a representative who talks – “omwogezi”.
