Easter Holidays Greetings

Easter, a day which usually happens on Sunday and is usually referred to as Easter Sunday is a religious holiday that is recognized and celebrated in many countries all over the world. The Easter season entails up to 4 continuous days right from Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday.

Easter which is also known as Pascha in Latin is a day which Christians celebrate recalling Jesus’ resurrection from the dead according to the Bible. Just like many other international celebrated days, many people end up in real confusion in regard to what is likely to stay open and what is likely to stay closed.

People want to know if things like Gas stations, Restaurants, Government and Private Offices, Retail stores, Pharmacies or Drug stores, Hospitals, Schools, Grocery Stores, Stock markets, Police and Fire Fighting, Ambulance services, Wholesale stores, Post offices, Banks, SACCO’s, Credit facilities and many others in countries like the US, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Canada, United Kingdom, Rwanda, South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana and etc remained opened or closed during the entire Easter season or on some days.

In Uganda being my target, the listed below are likely to be open or closed. This means that taking your time and browsing through the list might be very helpful for you when it comes to doing things well knowing the fact.

Gas / Petrol stations – Gas and Petrol stations These remain open and performing as usual. Whether during the day or at night those who work 24 hours, will be able to buy gas or even fuel up their vehicle.

Hotels and Restaurants – Almost all hotels and restaurants remain open during the entire holiday season. It should be noted that this is another time in the course of the year when they perform more.

Government and private offices – Government offices remain closed right from Good Friday to Easter Monday, while private offices remain closed on Good Friday, open on Saturday, and stay closed till the season is over.

Hospitals, Ambulance services and Clinics – Both public and private hospitals and clinics in Uganda remain open during this season. Since many accidents tend to happen, they are on alert and have to respond instantly there is a need.

Police and Fire Fighting – The police and Fire remains open in the United states, UK, Uganda and in all other countries. They are on alert, guard and ready to respond to any call or need.

Banks, SACCO’s and Credit facilities – Banks and other financial institutions remain closed on Friday, open on Saturday and close till Tuesday when they resume business.

Postal services and other Couriers – Like under public and private offices, these too will open and close as per choice.

In brief, most private owned companies, business, retail and whole shops or stores remain open in some days during the season and close only on days when they don’t work even in the normal non-holiday days. It is very important for one to plan in advance so that you don’t miss out due to closures on certain items or essentials. Happy holidays.
