Hollywood Celebrities Have Embraced The Keto Diet

The keto diet is gaining unprecedented popularity as a significant weight loss and management plan. And even celebrities have not been left out of this trendy weight loss plan. Read on to find out why.

For decades, celebrities have been obsessed with all things that guarantee health and wellness. It might be industrial requirements or just the desire to look good on and off camera. More than 40% of Americans struggle with obesity and other weight-related issues, thus the increasing interest in the limelight to attain and maintain a trim figure.

The keto diet is a newly-fangled solution that is embraced by numerous notorieties globally. Whenever we hear of diets, our minds inevitably wander off to low-carb or high-protein solutions. But the high-fat keto regimen is taking over.

And as more celebrities attest to the efficacy of keto diet supplements, meal plans, shakes, and ketorade recipe for overall wellness, this popular tech trend continues to take over the mainstream steadily. Before we look at celebrities who swear by keto, read on to understand what the diet is and how it works.

What Is The Keto Diet?

The keto diet is a rejuvenated concept derived from the Atkins Diet that was popular in the 1970s. Although first introduced in the 1920s to help lower the severity of seizures in epileptic children and patients, with time, anecdotal evidence pointed to how the keto diet helps with weight loss.

Ketogenic meal plans favor adherence to a strict high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet. The primary purpose is to force the body to alter its source of energy. Typically, carbohydrates are converted to glucose, which is utilized to fuel all bodily functions. But when you minimize the number of carbs you consume, the metabolic process transforms.

How Hollywood Has Embraced The Keto Diet

Given the star-studded industrial demands imposed on celebrities, physical beauty matters are always on top of most celebrities’ lists. The number of actors, artists, performers, and musicians on a keto diet or vegan diet keeps rising, and there is a good reason.

1. Cookbook Author, Ree Drummond

Renowned author Ree Drummond says she drew inspiration for her latest cookbook, New Frontier, from the time she has spent on keto. The meal plan helped her develop healthier eating habits and lose substantial weight. You will find low-sugar and low-carb keto-inspired recipes incorporated into her most recent publication.

2. TV Show TODAY’s Weather Anchor, Al Roker

Another public figure who advocates keto for weight loss is TODAY’s weatherman, Al Roker. Have you heard of keto bread? If not, Mr. Roker is famous worldwide for this zero-carb pastry recipe, plus other keto diet easy recipes like low-carb sloppy joes.

3. Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft, Alicia Vikander

The 2018 blockbuster actress claims the keto diet helped her before and during the shooting period. The on-screen adventurer praises keto as a convenient meal plan that’s easy to follow while on the road. Besides keeping her in shape, she also uses the LCHF diet to alleviate nervousness and anxiety while filming.

4. Jersey Shore Star, Vinny Guadagnino

If you are a fan of the show, you probably follow Vinny on Instagram. He is a strong supporter of the keto diet and is continually offering beginner dieters valuable advice to adhere to the meal plan. Vinny attributes his impressive weight-loss journey to the strict diet that elicited positive lifestyle changes allowing him to shed over 50 pounds.

On The Flipside

Some Hollywood names claim to experience keto side effects, like pro dancer Witney Carson, who is affected by eczema, tried the keto to lose weight, but her skin reacted to the LCHF diet. She had to suspend her ketogenic regime to stop breaking out.

Fitness-enthusiasts Danette May and Jillian Michaels suggest alternative means for weight loss like regular exercise. She asserts that the low-carb high-fat diet could be dangerous to humans because it denies your body a whole nutrient group. And even celeb nutritionists like Cynthia Sass and Abbey Sharp are well-known detractors. They offer several ‘supposed’ bad keto diet examples to support their views.

Final Word

Keto is enjoying the limelight right now, propagated as the hottest diet in Hollywood. Over the years, we have seen several media personalities transform physically. Celebrities are ditching pasta and bread and filling up on bacon, butter, and avocados. Why not you? You can still live a full life without carbs.

It is even possible to combine your keto diet and alcohol. Just look for a brand with low-carbs. Do any influencers or celebrities inspire you to try the keto diet? Kindly share with us in the comment section below.
