Scamming is a common activity which not only work through Facebook which is the Giant Social Networking Site but too in emails, websites, blogs and many others ways. What happens is that the Scammer will fake his or her identity, gets the right contact details of the target person and will try their best and possible way to establish a connection and within a few days, its when one will get to know that he or she was scammed after either losing big amounts of money or being a subject of identity theft and which I am sure you know what follows.
For the past weeks, it looks like I was targeted but since I knew something already with regard on how scammers operate, I was have been lucky and still that I haven’t fallen for them just like what their target might have been. In this post, I will share with you what exactly happened to me so that you can be able to use the same experience yourself when it comes to detecting a possible scammer in his or her attempts to do do his work, and below are some of the Scam messages which scammers use to get started on some one. When you take a look at all the message above, you can see that they are almost identical but from different users. When I tried to respond as a test trial on one of them, below is what they responded to me.
Thank you for responding and am happy that you are accepting me as your friend. In my last email, I told you that Facebook is not safe and can you please email me or send me you email address as a reply? Blessed.
Now you can see how she was not interested as a social friend by rather, one who wanted my email address so that she could get started with all the fake info about her. What I did next was to create a one use free email address using a custom domain name – the .tk version and sent her the email. Check how she responded.
“Now that I have your email address, we can talk. But one question is that I don’t trust this email address since they are not permanent. But its okay. Here is my story..I am an orphan living in a camp… My father was a rich man who died in a plane crush.. He left $7,000,000 in one US bank account…. I want to help me act as a beneficiary since my late father left no will….”
