The Ugandas law council is set to reintroduce the LDC Pre Entry exams ahead of the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 academic years according to sources. The reintroduction of these pre entry exams is part of the Ugandas legal education reforms intended to produce quality as opposed to quantity.

Additional reforms that have been eyed included the National Bar Course, a program which will see replacement of the current LDC Bar Course come the 2027/2028 academic year. The national bar course is said to be a standardized program that will be supervised by the Uganda Law Council, although it will be offered by the different institutions of learning.

It is also rumoured that students who intend to join  LDC for their Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice will have to first sit and pass these pre entry exams in order to be accepted.
