Step One: Go to the eCitizen Website

Open your internet browser and type this address:
https://www.ecitizen.go.ke

This will take you to the official page. Do not go to fake websites. Always check the spelling to be sure.

Step Two: Log into Your Account

Use your national identification number and your password to enter your account. If you do not have an account yet, click on “Create account” and follow the instructions.

Step Three: Go to the Tax Services

After you are inside the eCitizen page, look for the section written “Kenya Revenue Authority Services.” Click on it. This will take you to the tax services area.

Step Four: Enter the Tax Portal

Click on the link that opens the tax system (usually it says “Access iTax Services”). A new window will open where you can file your returns.

Step Five: Select Nil Return

When you are in the portal, you will see many buttons. Look for the one written “File Nil Return” or “File Return.” Click it.

Step Six: Choose Individual Option

You will be asked if you are a person or a business. Select “Individual,” since you are filing as yourself, not as a company.
