PostBank name change to Pearl Bank Uganda Limited. The decision to have the Governments-owned commercial bank’s name rebranded was arrived at the bank’s Annual General Meeting that was held on Thursday 5 June, 2025 at the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development offices in Kampala in attendance of its shareholders.
With the bank’s reported net profit after tax of up to 35.4 billion Ugandan shillings for the year 2024 (representing a 28% increase from the previous year), this growth proved how PostBank has continued to perform to its expectations, something that led to its rank among the top 10 commercial bank’s in Uganda.
According to Matia Kasaija, the Minister of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development, Post bank’s new name “evokes national pride, drawing inspiration from Winston Churchill’s description of Uganda as The Pearl of Africa”.
It should be noted that PostBank is 100% owned by the Uganda government. And similar to other banks, the bank also serves its customers and other partners through both mobile and agency banking (Wendi) platforms in addition to a network of over 57 branches and up to 6000 agents country wide.
With such growth, you are ready to join an investment partner that will help you grow just like they do.
