Freenom is one of the leading free domain name providers when it comes to the world of 100% free and no string attached providers. And yes, If you are wondering how to use your provided domain name on a WordPress site, this tutorial will help you through all the steps required and which will act as a point when its time to configure your free website. Like many know, WordPress comes in two options and alternatives for example the self-hosted and the WordPress-hosted. This means that in order for you to use your free freenom domain name with WordPress, you will need a hosting provider which can be a free or paid one, and you will too need to download a WordPress software since all will help when making your domain name.

And when you are done with the above, you will need to head on to registering your choice of domain name within your freenom dashboard. And what does it mean? You need to create an account with if you don’t have any since its your account which gives you access to the control panel and your dashboard.

How to register a new domain name with Freenom? In order to register a domain name, you need to log in first. Then hit on Register new domain name and type it in the box provided usually after new page loads.

Select add to cart and hit on continue to checkout. Please don’t worry since its still free. Now input your hosting servers for example NS01.OOOWEBHOST.COM and other corresponding entries under nameservers in the Domain DNS field. Please note that you should select option use my own Nameservers or otherwise, your domain will use the default freenom provided.

Now head on to your hosting provider and add the domain name you just registered in your account. If your host supports auto script installations, head to that menu and do the installation for example WordPress. But if they don’t use auto, then you will copy the FTP details and use an option like FileZilla.

Once you are done uploading your WordPress CMS, your site should be up and running once again. This whole process is very simple and easy to do for as long as you follow all the procedures as shared above.
