Why Does Everyone Love German Cars so Much and Are They Worth it?

German cars

One of the most common uses of German outside of Germany is for car commercials.

But why German cars? Are they so good? And are they worth their money? About all this – in my new article!

Brief history

All modern cars really do have their origins in Germany – the first car in the world was once invented by a German named Carl Benz. In 1879, he patented the internal combustion engine, which was first used in creating engines for airplanes and then moved under the hood of the first car.   BMW, Porsche, and Rolls Royce were not far behind Benz – shortly after the end of World War II, they too decided to switch to car engines.

German Autobahns

Germany quickly deviated from the rest of the world in terms of car production, not least because of the famous German Autobahns. These endless highways had no speed limits, no speed bumps, and no crosswalks – just a flat track.

German cars were created specifically for the Autobahn and designed with the expectation to use them – buyers appreciate their ability to quickly accelerate to great speeds (over 150 km / h, and today and 300 km / h in the bends), smooth braking and ease of operation.

But first things first!

Speed

German cars can rightly be called a true marvel of technology, but some of the problems with their amazing speed is that any BMW or Volkswagen can only be effective on the track that was used to create and test it.

BMW

In Dubai, you can rent the fastest models of the BMW. You will find a wide range of models and good prices. Moreover, the car infrastructure in the UAE is well developed, and renting a car will be not only a logical decision but also a great opportunity to experience the speed and drive of a hired BMW. Do not forget that to rent a BMW in Dubai you need a credit card and an international driving license.

And they know everything about speed! 10/10!

Design

While we are talking about car stereotypes, let’s discuss the famous German car design! Many people think it is too stocky, “square”, austere – as if it looks like a pug.

VW

The “appearance” of German cars is quite a controversial thing. VW is an excellent example – the classical “Volkswagens” are strict and gray, but it is necessary to look at the whole concern more attentively – and you will definitely get a pleasant surprise!

The “angry” designs of the Audi TT, the elegant Bentley and Lamborgini, and even the luxurious Bugatti Veyron today also belong to Volkswagen.

Probably 7/10!

Comfort

Numerous “Volkswagens” and “Mercedes” have always impressed the human imagination with their comfort and are often at the top of the respective ratings.

Mercedes

Engines with unusual design solutions, gearboxes with gas pedals, centralized chassis lubrication systems, servomechanisms and hydraulic actuators in the braking system, independent suspensions, and suspended bodies – all that can be easily found in almost every German car. 10/10!

Disadvantages

All these features are really impressive, and perhaps German cars absolutely deservedly captured a large part of the market. But what happens to them now? Good question!

For many modern consumers the proud “Made in Germany” no longer possesses the former magic. Undoubtedly, their level of assembly, speed, design, and equipment are still chic, but the famous reliability no longer seems so.

German cars also do not become cheaper – all brands from Germany are the luxurious segment, real cars-attractions. In order to impress a buyer, engineers “squeeze out” the maximum power and capacity from them – these luxurious cars are designed only for 150,000 – 200,000 kilometers on wonderful roads with great speed and power.

Conclusion

Modern German cars are really not a bad monetary investment and an excellent choice for people who can afford to change them every 200,000 km of mileage without thinking about repairs.
