My Uganda Driving Permit Was Instantly Issued By Face Technologies

If it wasn’t me myself, I would say that the person who wrote this was day dreaming. But honestly, this isn’t a dream. It is the first of it’s kind in the history of Driving permits and in Uganda. Yes, I am referring to the Uganda computerized driving permits (UCDP) which are issued by Face Technologies Kyambogo on behalf of the Ministry of Works in Uganda.

Even since I started driving and acquired my Uganda driving permit, what happened to me Today had never happened to me. Yes, I mean having my Driving permit ready the same day I take my papers. In the past, it should to happen that once one submitted the last paperwork together with the bank payment receipts, a period between a week to a month would be allocated for one to collect his or her printed UCDP permit.

But now, things looks to have taken a next level and which is instant call it express oba. Me and others who had gone their to submit our ready papers and be issued with Temporary driving permits were amazed. Instead of being issued with the Temporary licences as it used to be, we were told to wait for an hour only to be issued with our ready UCDP permits.

This to me was a dream come true since it all looks like the Journey make be to online permits is step away. This new development came amidst reports from the different people claimed that the process of getting permits had slowed since many were made to wait for more than a month without having them.

For now, I am sure this new development was the reason since may be, some new technologies and machines were brought in so as to have a speedy processing of permits. In fact, I must congratulate Face Technologies for this new development. Ugandan’s and all others will be at ease during the course.

What happened?

After making the requirement payments for my Drivers license renew, I headed to Face Technologies located in Kyambogo. Instantly I submitted and went through the usual process. After reaching the last counter were learners and temporary driving permits are issued, I was told to wait and boo I did.

Only to be issued with my ready UCDP which meant that I wasn’t going back as it used to be in the past. Good, from paper to computerized and now from waiting to instant. No more waiting. No more returns. No more etc! Well done and Thumbs up!!
