Since the 13 questions above feature the theory part , candidates should expect the practical session which involves real driving. But before jumping in and starting the engine, it is mandatory to perform the below checks, or let your supervisor know what you were do to in case the car wasn’t on the road already (assuming you arent the very first interviewee)
7 checks before driving during an interview
- Checking all tires.
- Confirm Spanner, Car Jack and Spare tire availability.
- Request a logging card/book or car record card and check last and next service dates.
- Check Engile oil, Brake and Clutch fluids, Radiator water (don’t open assuming the car is hot or has been running) but let them know about it, Washer water, Battery terminal intact, Steering hydrollic and any other.
- Lock your passengers and fasten their seat belts.
- Check and confirm all car mirror positioning.
- Fasten your seat belt, start the car and let them to get ready for a drive.
4wd tip and trick you should note
In many cases, cars fail to move from position after successful start. And in case that happens, you should check the Toyota Hilux 4WD gear to confirm normal positioning. Interviewers use that trick which makes many fail. You should have knowledge of both 4wd’s, manual and automated cars unless you are sure.
