Whatsapp has proved beyond imaginations that mobile devices with the said OS versions are nolonger, and will continue not to be supported, with advise of owners to upgrade and or to buy new mobile phones which are currently being supported.

If you own any of the phones listed in below, my advise for you is simple, to either upgrade to a newer version if your mobile supports it, and or to simply buy a new mobile phone since that will be the only way for you to keep use of the worlds popular social networking app.

Beginning of 2017, these below phone will no longer be supported.

– Android versions older than 2.3.3
– Windows Phone 7
– iPhone 3GS/iOS 6

And come June 30, 2017, the following platforms will too no longer be supported.

– BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10
– Nokia S40
– Nokia Symbian S60

What’s the way forward?

Whatsapp recommends that mobile phone owners owning devices which fall in the above mentioned should “upgrade to a newer OS version, or to a newer Android running OS 2.3.3+, iPhone running iOS 7+, or Windows Phone 8+ so that they can continue using WhatsApp, the world’s popular social networking mobile application.
